I'm a little over a week away from leaving the country for the first time ever and I am a crazy mix of emotions: excited, scared, nervous, excited, anxious, antsy, hopeful and... excited! Most people would maybe have more synonyms for "excited" in that list but I would be lying to myself if I said I wasn't scared. This mainly stems from my never having been on an airplane before but also, of course, from my extreme home-bodyness that is looming over me like a dark, brooding rain cloud. However, I know that once I get off that plane and step foot on London soil, this exciting new adventure will be the perfect distraction.
This next week will be a busy one. I'm crossing off all the items on my "to-do-before-I-leave-the-country" list and furiously creating another "to pack" list that is so much longer than it needs to be, I'm sure. I'm very Type A, so this trip will be a challenge for me. I will try very hard to stick to my sister's advice: "don't plan everything!"
Armed with plenty of comfy sweaters, rain boots, and my London travel book, I intend to take London by storm everyday and not to waste a minute of it no matter what happens.
Wish me Luck!
